Turkish basketball team Darussafaka will host Russia’s Lokomotiv Kuban on Friday evening in ULEB Cup Final series’ second match.

The first match in Russia resulted in Darussafaka’s favor with a 81-78 score.

This is the first time Darussafaka are playing ULEB Cup final.

A victory in the final will be Turkey’s eighth European title in basketball, the first one was claimed by Anadolu Efes in 1996 in Korac Cup.

Since then, six other Turkish teams brought a European title home, including Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Near East University and Galatasaray in men’s and women’s competitions.

In 2008/2009 season, Galatasaray’s women basketball team brought home the FIBA Europe Cup, they added another title in 2013/2014 season in FIBA EuroLeague Women.

In 2011/2012 season, Besiktas managed to claim FIBA EuroChallenge Cup. Galatasaray men’s basketball team claimed ULEB Cup in 2015/2016 season.

Fenerbahce are currently the reigning champions of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, they won the cup in 2017 when they beat Olympiakos in the final in Istanbul.
