Missile lands in Lebanon as Israel, Syria exchange fire

A surface-to-surface missile landed on Lebanese soil early Thursday amid an exchange of fire between Israel and forces loyal to the Syrian regime, Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The projectile hit an area near the town of Habbariye, southern Lebanon, causing only material damage, according to NNA.

Lebanese army experts had examined what was left of the projectile before the parts of the exploded missile were transferred back to a military site, NNA said.

The Israeli army claimed early Thursday that Iranian forces in Syria launched 20 rockets into the Golan Heights but said they were intercepted by its Iron Dome air defense system.
