HATAY/ADIYAMAN, Turkey (AA) – Turkish security forces arrested two people over their suspected links to the terrorist group YPG/PKK, police sources said on Wednesday.
In Turkey’s southern province of Hatay, Turkish gendarmerie arrested 35-year-old Syrian national Ramazan Haci in an operation in the Kirikhan district.
A Turkish court later remanded Haci in custody.
In the southeastern province of Adiyaman, Turkish police arrested one suspect over alleged links to the PKK during a routine identity check.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU. The group waged a terror campaign against Turkey for more than 30 years and has been responsible for the death of nearly 40,000 people. Ankara considers the YPG as the Syrian offshoot of the PKK.
